jenn in chicago. i wandered up this way from somewhere down south. thoughts. travels. words. people. you can ask me questions! www.jennjennwatkins.tumblr.com/ask jennwatkins@gmail.com PhotosPhotosPhotos: www.capturedbyjenn.tumblr.com

so many beautiful sights. i walked across the street with the neighbors to the annual frank harmon oyster roast.  i took my camera and tried to capture chef wendell shouting “carolina oysters” every time he dumped a bucket of oysters onto the table, the crowds of people shucking oysters, the colorful overhead lights, tents and firepits, coopers BBQ and the traditional blue grass band, complete with a clogger but the photos just didn’t do the evening justice. the dim overhead tin lights strung above us forced me to burn the visions in my mind rather than into the camera lens. the evening was full of warmth and southern tradition, the smell of carolina brewed fall beer and down home comfort.
